Neighborhood Design Studio Exhibits at Phinneywood Art Walk
The Phinneywood Art Walk exhibit was a terrific success! UW LA Neighborhood Design studio showed work at the exhibit. It was great to see the students talking with community members, and to see people really looking over the projects. Society of Wetland Scientists Research Grant to Fund UW Student
Congrats to Matt MacDonald (MLA ’15) recipient of the 2014 Pacific Northwest Chapter Research Grant. His application for Design and Comparative Evaluation of Floating Wetlands in the Puget Sound Lowlands: Water Temperature Control, Plant Performance, and Aquatic Habitat was evaluated by a panel of wetland scientists and was selected to be funded. UW Faculty Recognized by Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture

MLA Studio Project Nominee for 2013 Sustainability Leadership Award
The 2013 Graduate Fall Studio’s work in the South Park neighborhood has been nominated for a 2013 Sustainability Leadership Award from Sustainable Seattle in the Transforming Spaces Category. The studio worked closely with the firm, Urban Systems Design to design and build four rain gardens at the intersection of 12th Avenue South and South Southern Street in the South Park Neighborhood.
