DI Ranking 2015 – MLA No. 3

The Department of Landscape Architecture’s MLA graduate degree program was ranked third in the nation in the Deans Survey by DesignIntelligence of most admired graduate landscape architecture programs “for its forward thinking and focus on urban ecological design.”  The survey compiled the responses of 42 Landscape Architecture Deans and Department Heads, gathering their opinions about programs in their own institutions as well as others across the country.  The Department was ranked fifth in 2014. Tea Talk: Richard Hartlage, The Work of Land Morphology, Nov 5th at 4:30

Richard Hartlage will present the work of Land Morphology a design-based practice specializing in residential, commercial, and public projects on both coasts.  They are interested in the intersection between built form, great planting design, and artful landforms and objects. Tea Talk: Kara Weaver + Jordan Bell (GGN), Pike Pine Renaissance, Oct 15th at 4:30

Kara Weaver (BLA 2005) and Jordan Bell (MLA 2012) of Gustafson Guthrie Nichol (GGN) will present the Pike-Pine Renaissance project, a system of streetscape design guidelines for Downtown Seattle. GGN proposes a rediscovery of simple urban street standards to create an elegant, timeless base for ever-changing street life and installations.
