Bo Peng is a Ph.D. candidate in the interdisciplinary Ph.D. program of the College of Built Environments, with a background in Landscape Architecture. Her research interests focus on the social and cultural aspects of placemaking, particularly in urban public spaces and micro-regeneration projects. Her previous research explores placemaking and place experience of Chinatowns in the U.S., as well as urban regeneration in Guangzhou, China. She intends to further develop her academic interest in co-governance and civic engagement in China, drawing upon the theoretical framework of social resilience. She has also been awarded the Graduate School Chester Fritz International Research and Study Fellowship from the University of Washington to support her fieldwork in China.
