Welcome to UW’s MLA Program
Congratulations on your offer of admission to UW’s MLA Program! We are excited for you to learn more about our program and meet our community. Please join us in Seattle for the CBE Visit Day or connect with us virtually at the MLA Meet + Greet. We also encourage you to fill out the form to Connect with a Current Student, watch faculty videos, and email faculty directly. Learn more about what motivates us in educating future designers of the built environment by reading about our Mission and Urban Ecological Design focus.
Seattle is a dynamic and diverse city surrounded by the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest and home to a vibrant and highly engaged landscape architecture design community. As a member of our program, you will have the opportunity to work with local professionals and community members in a real world “living laboratory” and to explore issues of local and global significance through design studios, seminars, interdisciplinary courses, and study abroad.
The deadline to confirm your enrollment is April 15, 2025.
You can indicate your decision to accept or decline your offer of admission by logging into your Application Portal. There is a $250 non-refundable enrollment confirmation deposit due at the time you accept your offer to reserve your place in the MLA program. The deposit will be applied to your Autumn 2025 tuition. If you accept an offer from a different program, we ask that you formally decline our offer as soon as you have decided.

Graduate Student Financial Support
Scholarship award letters are sent in early March following your offer of admission. There is no separate application to complete for departmental funding. All applicants who are offered admission are automatically considered and matched to the available scholarships. We have limited departmental funding and are not able to offer scholarships to all applicants, however, should funding become available, we will contact you via email.
If you would like to communicate a specific need for funding, please complete this MLA Admissions Scholarship request form.
If we are not able to offer a recruitment scholarship to you, as a continuing student you may apply for need-based Department funding in spring each year for funding for the following year.
Additional information about student employment opportunities and financial support can be found our Tuition + Financial Support page.
