Keith McPeters

Lecturer

Keith McPeters brings to design education 35+ years of professional practice experience in landscape architecture, urban design, and architecture, and an expertise and approach in working across the boundaries of landscape and architecture, art and science, and nature and culture.

Keith’s design philosophy emphasizes a concept driven approach to design that engages the power of hand sketching and drawing as essential tools for creating and challenging design thinking and communication. His work focuses on creating subtle yet surprising public spaces that become foundations for healthy, resilient communities. His project portfolio spans cultural landscapes, campus master planning, urban design, and sustainable infrastructure.

Keith was a Design Principal with GGN, an internationally recognized landscape architecture studio based in Seattle, where he served as a design collaborator on many of the studio’s projects including Grand Green Osaka & Umekita Park in Japan, India Basin Waterfront Park in San Francisco, and the University of Oregon Knight Campus.

Prior to moving to Seattle, Keith worked with Olin, a premier landscape architecture and urban design practice in Philadelphia, gaining extensive design and construction experience, both nationally and internationally, on major institutional projects including the Yale University Campus Framework Plan and the Ray and Maria Stata Center at MIT. Before earning his Master of Landscape Architecture at the University of Virginia, Keith began his career as an architect in New York City culminating in working with Michael Graves Architect in Princeton, NJ.

Throughout his career, Keith has contributed to design education as a guest reviewer and lecturer in the landscape departments at the University of Washington, the University of Pennsylvania, Thomas Jefferson University, Illinois Institute of Technology, Carnegie Mellon, and Rutgers University.
